Super Bowl champion Rashee Rice may still be able to play the 2024 season with the Kansas City Chiefs, despite the ongoing investigation into a high-speed car crash in Dallas. According to an NFL insider, Rice might have to wait until next year to learn of any potential punishment from the league.
While it is still expected that Rice will receive a multi-game suspension, the lengthy legal process could result in the NFL delaying any decision until the conclusion of the 2024 season. The Chiefs organization remains uncertain about the outcome, but a similar situation was cited where Alvin Kamara played an entire season while facing battery charges before being banned the following year.

The 24-year-old wide receiver, instrumental in the Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl victory, is facing eight charges related to the high-speed crash. These include one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury.
Rice and his friend, Theodore Knox, were allegedly racing each other in March when they caused a wreck involving a half-dozen vehicles on a Dallas highway. Additionally, Rice was under police investigation for an incident at a nightclub in Dallas earlier this year, where he was accused of assaulting a photographer. However, the man later requested that all charges be dropped, and Rice resumed training with the Chiefs in May.

Reflecting on these challenges, Rice shared that he has learned a lot and is committed to maturing and growing from these experiences. He expressed his intention to move forward with positivity and spread love and good energy.
In contrast, the Chiefs recently cut defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs following his arrest on charges of domestic violence and burglary. Buggs, who was on a $1.3 million deal, had also been arrested earlier this year for animal cruelty.
