Renowned comedian Jay Mohr has had the privilege of working alongside Hollywood royalty, but his experience on the set of 1996’s Jerry Maguire stands out as a highlight of his career.

Mohr, 53, gushes about his encounter with Tom Cruise, saying, “I think Tom Cruise is the most charismatic person I’ve ever met,” in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.

In the iconic Cameron Crowe film, Mohr played Bob Sugar, the protégé of the sports agent portrayed by Cruise, 62. The movie marked Mohr’s breakout role, and he admits, “I had no idea what I was doing. I think I was too young and dumb to be nervous.”

Since his debut in Jerry Maguire, Mohr has continued to excel in various roles, including Saturday Night Live, Pay It Forward, Air, Max Dagan, and Mr. Birchum. Despite his impressive career, he finds joy in the simple things, like spending time with his wife, Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss.

“I’m at my happiest when I’m sitting with my wife as she answers work emails and I’m doing a crossword puzzle,” he shares with Us.
