Actor Kevin Costner, 69, was spotted on a rare outing with his 17-year-old son Cayden in Summerland, California, following his return to the US from a yacht trip off the coast of Italy.

The Horizon star shared an affectionate hug with Cayden after they had lunch together at the Summerland Beach Cafe in Santa Barbara County, not far from Costner’s sprawling compound where he lives with his minor children, including 15-year-old son Hayes and 14-year-old daughter Grace.

Costner, who had been sailing in the Mediterranean, was dressed in a casual yet stylish outfit, consisting of beige shorts, a white dress shirt with rolled-up sleeves, black sunglasses, and flip flops. Cayden, on the other hand, opted for a more relaxed look with baggy jeans, a black short-sleeve button-up shirt, and a camouflage bandana over his hair.

As they prepared to part ways, the father-son duo shared a warm hug before going their separate ways.

Earlier this month, Costner shared photos of himself soaking up the sun on a yacht off the coast of Italy, which received praise from fans, including Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah Chrisley, who left a flirtatious comment on the post.

Costner’s public outings with his children are rare, though he and several of his kids put on a public face in June at the premiere of the first film in his series Horizon: An American Saga.

The actor’s personal life has been in the spotlight amid his ongoing divorce battle with his second wife, Christine Baumgartner, whom he tied the knot with in 2004. Christine initially refused to vacate the family’s Santa Barbara home, despite being required to under the terms of the couple’s prenuptial agreement.
