Jeremy Renner’s New Chapter: Father-Daughter Bonding and Priorities
In the aftermath of his 2023 accident, actor Jeremy Renner has experienced a significant shift in his relationship with his 11-year-old daughter, Ava. The 53-year-old star revealed to Us Weekly that their bond has evolved into a more adult dynamic, with Renner taking on new roles.
“It skipped and flipped for a minute because the accident really propelled us into a very adult relationship,” Renner explained. “It’s been wonderful, and now I feel like I’m just a manager or a bouncer, or I don’t know. I feel like my roles are changing … [I’m wearing] different hats now.”
Renner, who shares Ava with ex-wife Sonni Pacheco, used to be the “caregiver, nurturer, the entertainer, the chef, the provider, the chauffeur.” However, his priorities have shifted, and he now focuses on being present for Ava, ensuring she makes good choices.
As Ava prepares to start middle school, Renner isn’t worried about being the intimidating father figure to potential suitors. Instead, he joked that Ava’s strong personality will likely scare off anyone who isn’t worthy.
Renner has partnered with Silk plant-based milk, which has become an essential part of their daily morning routine. The actor, who suffered facial and jaw injuries in the accident, relied on Silk products during his recovery.
“I had issues with chewing because I had a lot of breaks in my face and jaw, but I could still drink and I had to get my nutrients,” he said. “Then, it became less medicated shakes and just regular nice protein shakes in the mornings.”
Renner and Ava enjoy making breakfast together, incorporating healthy habits into their meals. The actor is proud to have Ava featured alongside him in a Super Bowl commercial for Silk, marking a special milestone in their journey.
“I got to do that with my daughter on the anniversary of the accident, which is just amazing,” he said about filming the ad. “I remember being with my daughter on set and I said, ‘Look how far we’ve come, girl.’ One year [later], look what we’re doing. We’re doing a Super Bowl commercial together — it was pretty awesome.”
