West Ham Make Bid for Leeds United Winger Crysencio Summerville
West Ham United has made an offer for Leeds United’s talented winger Crysencio Summerville, according to reports. However, a deal is not close, with the 22-year-old Dutchman considered “very expensive” by the Yorkshire club.
The Hammers have also engaged in talks with Summerville regarding a potential move to the London Stadium. Roma is also monitoring the situation, but they will only pursue a deal if they fail to sign Matias Soule from Juventus. Leicester City is also interested in Soule, who is valued at £34 million.
Summerville has two years remaining on his current contract at Leeds United. The winger has been capped by the Netherlands at Under-21 level and signed for Leeds from Feyenoord in September 2020.
Since joining Leeds, Summerville has made 89 appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 12 assists. His impressive form last season earned him the Championship Player of the Season award, despite Leeds missing out on promotion.
Brighton & Hove Albion enquired about Summerville last month, but West Ham appears to be the most serious suitor for his signature. Julen Lopetegui’s side has already made three major signings in this transfer window, including exciting youngster Luis Guilherme, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, and defender Max Kilman from Wolves.
It is likely to take a significant offer for Leeds, managed by Daniel Farke, to sell Summerville. The Yorkshire club will be keen to hold onto their talented winger, who has been a key player for them in recent seasons.
