Declan Rice Donates £5,000 to West Ham Youth Goalkeeper Fighting Cancer
West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has made a generous donation of £5,000 to a GoFundMe campaign for 14-year-old Oscar Fairs, a West Ham Under-15 goalkeeper who is battling a rare form of brain cancer.
Rice, a former Hammers youth player himself, made 245 senior appearances for West Ham before signing with Arsenal in July 2023.
Oscar Fairs, who has been with West Ham since the age of nine, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor last year. Despite undergoing seven surgeries, one round of chemotherapy, and one round of radiotherapy, Fairs was told that palliative care was the only option.

Fairs’ family have found a treatment called MEMMAT, which isn’t available in the UK, but can be provided at a facility in France called The Oscar Lembert Center. Over £60,000 has been raised so far, with an intended target of £100,000.
Fairs’ family are due to have a meeting with the French oncologist on Friday during which his treatment plan will be discussed.
