Tennessee Titans linebacker Arden Key has had his six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy overturned on appeal.
The initial suspension was handed down, but Key’s successful appeal means he will be eligible to play in the Titans’ opening game of the season.
The Titans had taken a gamble by giving Key first-team reps despite the possible punishment, but it has now paid off.
Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons broke the news on Twitter, saying “See you guys Sept 8” to confirm that Key’s appeal had been successful.
Last season was Key’s first with the Titans, during which he recorded six sacks in 17 games.

Key managed six sacks last season with the Titans – his first season in Tennessee
Last season’s performance was just half a sack short of his career high of six-and-a-half sacks, which he set in 2021 with the San Francisco 49ers.
Key is a seven-year veteran of the NFL, having spent his college years at LSU.
The Titans are coming off a 6-11 season, their worst by winning percentage since 2015.
Games that Key is now eligible for include the opener against the Chicago Bears on September 8, as well as games against the Jets on September 15, the Packers on September 22, the Dolphins on September 30, the Colts on October 13, and the Bills on October 20.
