Sione Vaki, a rookie running back, is vying for a roster spot after being taken in the fourth round of the NFL draft. However, he has recently revealed an incredible hidden talent that has left fans stunned.
Vaki, who played college football at Utah, showed off his remarkable singing voice after practice on Thursday, leaving his coaches and teammates in awe. According to head coach Dan Campbell, Vaki has a “phenomenal voice” and sang a part of “East Side High 2012 & Forever” by BJ the Chicago Kid, hitting a falsetto at one point.
Vaki’s pipes drew rave reviews online, with many fans sharing their reactions on social media. “BRO HAS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL,” one fan exclaimed. Another suggested that he perform the national anthem before a game, while another fan was feeling bullish about the Lions’ chances this season after watching Vaki’s singing.
One fan even tagged Jason Kelce, the ex-Eagles center, under a video of the performance, urging him to feature Vaki on his next Christmas album.

Vaki finds himself buried on the depth chart behind David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Craig Reynolds, but made an impression in Detroit’s most recent preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished with six carries for 22 yards to go along with four catches for 60 receiving yards.
The deadline for final roster cuts is August 27, and Vaki will be hoping to make a strong impression in the remaining preseason games to secure a spot on the roster.

Before Vaki sang, Campbell mentioned that he also produced a previously “eh” performance for his teammates, but his rendition on Thursday was certainly anything but.
Vaki’s hidden talent has certainly made him a fan favorite, and he will be hoping to use his incredible voice to make a lasting impression on the coaching staff as he fights for a roster spot.
