Imagining a dream team is a fantasy that football enthusiasts often indulge in. When a legendary quarterback expresses his desire to have played with a phenomenal wide receiver, it sparks the imagination of die-hard fans.
Fans of the Atlanta Falcons are no exception, as they recently heard former NFL MVP quarterback Matt Ryan name Calvin Johnson as the receiver he most wishes had been his teammate.
“I loved throwing to big targets. … When I would see Calvin Johnson play, I mean, to me, that was the one. … He was different,” Ryan said on “Up & Adams.”
Matt Ryan says the ONE player he wished he could’ve thrown to was MEGATRON
Can you imagine prime Calvin Johnson and Julio Jones on the SAME team?? @M_Ryan02 @calvinjohnsonjr @juliojones_11 @heykayadams pic.twitter.com/p07iYTu6Tf

The prospect of Johnson playing alongside Ryan and the talented Julio Jones is a mouth-watering one.
Ryan’s impressive NFL career, which places him among the top 10 in most major passing categories, would have only been elevated by the addition of Johnson to the Falcons’ offense.
It’s hard to argue with Ryan’s choice, given Johnson’s remarkable achievements in the league despite his towering 6-foot-5, 236-pound frame.
The man nicknamed “Megatron” crafted a Hall of Fame career by being bigger and better than the competition.
In nine NFL seasons, all with the Detroit Lions, Johnson accomplished seven 1,000-yard seasons and earned six Pro Bowl nods.
A member of the Hall of Fame’s 2010s All-Decade Team, Johnson holds the single-season record for most receiving yards (1,964 in 2012).
Although he found success with quarterback Matthew Stafford in Detroit, one can only imagine the kind of success Johnson might have achieved if he had found his way back to his old college town in Atlanta to play with an MVP quarterback like Ryan.
