Country Music Night Turns Sour
Fan’s Threats Against NFL Stars Land Him in Hot Water
A concertgoer in Illinois is facing the music after allegedly issuing threats against Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce during a Morgan Wallen show.
Aaron Brown was taken into custody following a social media post that caught authorities’ attention just before the concert. In the post, he wrote, “If [redacted] brings out [redacted] or [redacted], I’ll take the shot. Forget them!” He added, “And to you, [hand emoji with middle finger]!”
It’s clear the redacted names refer to Mahomes and Kelce, who both joined Morgan Wallen on stage during the concert. Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, was also in attendance.
Law enforcement was alerted to the post on Friday night and quickly identified the suspect, who went by the username “Gooey Bag.”
Brown attended the concert with his girlfriend and was contacted by police on his cellphone, confirming their presence at the event. When arrested, he admitted, “It was a stupid, stupid mistake.”
Brown has been charged with making terroristic threats and is being held on $15,000 bail.
