**Patrick Mahomes Donates $5 Million to Texas Tech Stadium Renovation and Football Center Projects**
NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes has made a generous donation of $5 million to his alma mater, Texas Tech, to support the renovation of the south end zone of Jones AT&T Stadium and the Dustin R. Womble Football Center.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s donation is part of a $242 million project that began while he was still playing for the Red Raiders. Mahomes played for Texas Tech from 2014 to 2016 before declaring for the NFL Draft a year early.
“Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best brand in sports, not only for his success on the field but for what he and his family do off it,” said Red Raiders coach Joey McGuire.
The school has announced that it will name the walkthrough area of the football center, the quarterback meeting room, and the office of the offensive coordinator after Mahomes.
Mahomes has won two league MVPs and led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles, including the last two. He frequently attends Texas Tech games and has been inducted into the school’s Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame.
