Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs star, is taking his talents to the big screen with his first movie project, “Loose Cannons,” an action-comedy film.
Kelce’s fame has reached new heights, thanks to his romance with Taylor Swift and his appearances in advertisements, TV shows, and even music tours. Now, he’s set to make his mark in Hollywood.
According to reports, Kelce is in talks to star in “Loose Cannons,” a project being set up by Lionsgate, with Chad Stahelski, the John Wick filmmaker, producing alongside his partner at 87Eleven Entertainment, Jason Spitz. Tim Dowling, whose credits include Adam Sandler comedy Just Go With It, is said to have penned the script.

The film is said to have a similar vibe to classic action comedy hits like Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys, and Rush Hour, and centers on the premise that every police precinct in the movie’s world has an out-of-control, rule-breaking officer on staff who is ultimately partnered with a cop just as unhinged as they are.
It’s unclear when production will begin or what role Kelce will play, but if he does bag the part, it will mark just the next step in the Super Bowl winner’s ambitious off-field endeavors.
Kelce has already established an impressive Hollywood portfolio, appearing in an episode of Showtime comedy Moonbase 8 in 2020 and hosting Saturday Night Live in March 2023. More recently, he’s signed on to host television show “Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?” – a spinoff of “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?”

Kelce has also landed a role in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX series, “Grotesquerie,” a horror drama that follows a detective attempting to solve a string of heinous crimes. The 10-episode series is set to drop in September, and Kelce’s role remains a mystery.
Kelce previously opened up about feeling like an “amateur” on set, saying, “It’s been so much fun. I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I haven’t gotten fired yet. They haven’t told me to kick rocks after the first week.”
Kelce has confirmed an October 16 launch date for ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?’
Kelce is gearing up for the start of the new NFL season, which is less than a month away. The Kansas City Chiefs will start their new campaign with a blockbuster showdown against Baltimore Ravens on Sep. 5 at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kelce and the Chiefs are lining up an historic shot at an unprecedented Super Bowl “three-peat” this season, and his girlfriend Swift is anticipated to be cheering him on from the stands as much as possible.
