Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce returned to training camp this week to find a surprise waiting for him in his locker. Actors Tyler Hynes and Hunter King, stars of the upcoming Hallmark movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, had left him a humorous note.

The duo revealed that Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, had encouraged them to sneak the note into his locker. Hynes explained that he wrote the lyrics to Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” because Travis had sung it at the Super Bowl parade, and added, “Don’t ever change.”

King chimed in, saying she wrote a note that read, “Thanks for letting us steal your field and your mom.” The note was a playful jab at the fact that the movie had taken over the Chiefs’ stadium during filming.

Hynes and King gushed about working with Donna, with King saying, “She’s a sweetheart… lovely and I loved having her on set. She was so fun to talk to.”

The movie, which starts filming in July, follows King’s character Alana, who is convinced her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest.

The team’s director of fan engagement, Derrick, is tasked with deciding if Alana’s family is a strong contender for the contest, and as the pair spends time together, it becomes clear there’s a spark between them.
