Harrison Butker Becomes the Highest-Paid Kicker in NFL History with New $25 Million Deal
Harrison Butker, the 29-year-old kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, has signed a new four-year contract worth $25.6 million, making him the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. The deal includes $17.8 million in guaranteed money.
This new agreement comes just three months after Butker made headlines for a controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas, where he expressed his conservative views on gender roles, abortion, and vaccines.
In his speech, Butker urged men to “fight against cultural emasculation” and stated that women are destined to be “homemakers.” He also claimed that the absence of men in the home is a significant contributor to the violence seen across the nation.

Butker has become more vocal about his personal beliefs in recent years, including wearing a tie with a pro-life Latin phrase to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration at the White House last year, which opposed President Joe Biden’s pro-choice policies.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has been the Chiefs’ starting kicker since 2017 and converted the game-winning field goal in last year’s Super Bowl against the Eagles.
The previous record for the highest-paid kickers belonged to Baltimore’s Justin Tucker and Philadelphia’s Jake Elliott, who both earn $6 million per season.
