Fans may remember that during the Bush era, Armstrong wore a mask of the then-President with the same derogatory term. This time, he targeted Trump, who he has been vocal about disliking.

Although it’s unclear if Armstrong wore the entire mask, he did hold it up in front of the audience while singing, and the image has gone viral. However, some conservatives are misinterpreting the gesture, claiming it looks like he’s holding up Trump’s “head.”

As a result, Armstrong is facing backlash from right-wingers, who are accusing him of being insensitive, especially in light of a recent assassination attempt. The drama is reminiscent of Kathy Griffin’s 2017 controversy, where she posed for a photo with a fake bloody Trump head.
