Golfer Snaps Back at Tennis Star After BRUTAL ESPYs Burn

Harrison Butker has responded to Serena Williams’ barb at the ESPYs, stating that she “used her platform to exclude those who disagree with her.” The Super Bowl winner, who faced backlash for a commencement speech at a Kansas arts college, issued a statement on Friday, addressing Williams’ comments.

During the ESPYs at the Dolby Theater in LA, Williams asserted, “You can enjoy women’s sports, just like any other sport, because they are sports.” She further stated, “We don’t need you, Harrison Butker,” with comedian Quinta Brunson adding, “At all, like ever.”

Butker, who faced criticism for his May speech at Benedictine College, where he encouraged female graduates to embrace being ‘homemakers,’ began his statement by praising Williams as a “great host.” He acknowledged her use of her platform to express her beliefs but criticized her for “disinviting” those with differing opinions from supporting fellow athletes.

CONTROVERSIAL COMMENTS: Butker’s remarks at Benedictine College sparked a backlash.

Butker, a three-time Super Bowl champion, stood by his beliefs, stating that he values his religion over football. He acknowledged the criticism he received but also noted the support he received for his freedom of religion. The NFL has distanced itself from Butker’s comments, stating that they do not reflect the organization’s views.

Chiefs players, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, have expressed their support for Butker’s right to hold his beliefs, even if they disagree with them. Kelce emphasized the importance of respecting differing viewpoints, especially when it comes to religious views.
