Michelle Obama
Delivers Scathing Rebuke of Donald Trump
at DNC Over Racially Charged Comments
Michelle Obama unleashed a powerful rebuke of Donald Trump during her speech at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, criticizing the Republican presidential nominee for his divisive rhetoric and racial undertones.
The former First Lady and wife of Barack Obama took the stage on night two of the DNC, and her contempt for Trump’s words was palpable as she addressed the packed crowd.
In a memorable moment, Michelle Obama stated that she and her husband are all too familiar with Trump’s attempts to instill fear in others, highlighting the irony that Trump feels threatened by the success of two highly educated Black individuals.
She went on to say that Trump’s narrow worldview makes him perceive the accomplishments of others as a threat, implying that his own insecurities drive his rhetoric.
Michelle Obama then delivered a stinging rebuke, saying, “Who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those ‘jobs’ that he claims others are taking?”
Her comment was a clear reference to Trump’s controversial remarks about immigrants taking jobs from Black Americans during a speech at the National Association Of Black Journalists Convention in July.
Michelle Obama went on to wholeheartedly endorse Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, praising her as a dignified individual dedicated to serving others through public service.
Barack Obama, who followed Michelle on stage, also took aim at Trump, labeling him a 78-year-old billionaire and conspiracy theorist who constantly complains about his own problems and is anxious about losing the election to Kamala Harris.
Barack Obama also poked fun at Trump’s fixation on crowd sizes, even making a humorous remark about the length of a certain anatomical feature to drive the point home.
