The Bachelorette stars Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo are calling it quits, and the drama surrounding their divorce is escalating by the day. Abasolo filed for divorce in January 2024, and the rumor mill is in full swing.

Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo met on the set of The Bachelorette in 2017. Abasolo proposed to Lindsay in a romantic Bachelor-finale-style gesture, and the couple tied the knot in August 2019. Despite keeping their relationship largely private, the former couple’s divorce has brought their personal lives back into the spotlight.

Despite Lindsay’s previous praise for their marriage, Abasolo filed for divorce less than five years after their intimate wedding in Spain. At the time, Abasolo was 39, and Lindsay was 34. The couple chose to keep their nuptials private, with Lindsay telling:

We don’t need TV. We don’t need to get paid. We’re doing this because this is what we want to do. And I think it has more meaning.

Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo’s Divorce

Despite their seemingly perfect relationship, court documents reveal that Abasolo listed their date of separation as December 31, 2023, and is seeking spousal support. Abasolo initially requested $16,000 per month, plus $75,000 for his legal fees, a request that Lindsay fought against.

Lindsay was ordered to pay $13,000 per month in support, along with a total of $20,000 related to Abasolo’s legal fees. Abasolo claimed his annual income is $16,000, which Lindsay argues is impossible, given that it’s less than the minimum full-time wage in California, and she had been paying “90%” of their bills and expenses.

The reason for their divorce is cited as irreconcilable differences.

The drama doesn’t end with money. Abasolo is claiming that when he “first met his divorce coach last year,” Lindsay was “emotionally and psychologically beaten down.” He has leaked messages from Lindsay, accusing her of being abusive and withholding money.

Though their divorce is far from finalized, it seems like Rachel Lindsay isn’t letting this experience hold her back from trying her luck at love again. The Bachelorette star is currently dating and prioritizing having fun.
