The New York Giants are mourning the loss of their former Pro Bowl center, Greg Larson, who recently passed away at the age of 84.
Larson, a stalwart of the Giants for 13 seasons, only missed three games during his time with the team. He was recently honored as one of the top 100 players in the Giants’ history.
According to his obituary, Larson passed away in June, with his devoted wife of 63 years by his side.
Following his NFL career, Larson returned to his home state and spent his later years at a senior living facility in Plymouth, Minnesota.
In 1961, he married the love of his life, Josephine Blegen. Together, they had four children—Karin, Barton, Michael, and Christopher—and were blessed with seven grandchildren.

Greg Larson passed away at the age of 84. In his later years, he exchanged the NFL field for the golf course.

Larson (wearing 53) proudly represented the New York Giants for 13 years and only missed three games during that time.
While his NFL career was undoubtedly impressive, it is worth noting that Larson’s true passion in his later years was golf, a sport in which he excelled and won several club championships.
During his time with the Giants, Larson played in 179 games between 1961 and 1973, which was the second-highest number in the team’s history at that time, only surpassed by Joe Morrison.
John Mara, the Giants’ president, recently paid tribute to Larson at the team’s ‘Giants 100’ event, saying, ‘He was our leader, our captain, and one of the most beloved players we had. He truly embodied what it meant to be a Giant during that era.’
