Airborne Anarchy: New Jersey Passenger’s
Shocking Mid-Flight Breakdown Caught on Video
Accused of Soliciting Flight Attendant for Intimate Encounter
A chaotic scene unfolded in the skies when a passenger’s behavior spiraled out of control, forcing an emergency landing. The disturbing incident allegedly involved a suggestive advance towards a flight attendant and a desperate attempt to open the plane door mid-flight.
According to federal authorities, the suspect has been identified as Eric Nicholas Gapco, a resident of Delanco, New Jersey. The dramatic footage, captured by fellow passengers, shows Gapco’s alarming meltdown on the American Airlines flight from Seattle to Dallas earlier this month.
The video reveals a shirtless Gapco shouting wildly as crew members struggle to restrain him near the bathroom. Panicked passengers rush in, attempting to calm the escalating chaos.
Investigators claim Gapco was also using a vape pen before his behavior became increasingly erratic. He allegedly made an inappropriate proposal to one of the stewardesses, which contributed to the life-threatening situation. The flight crew was forced to restrain Gapco’s hands and feet to prevent further harm.
The plane made an emergency landing at Salt Lake City International Airport, where Gapco was taken into custody. He faces charges of interfering with the flight crew and attempting to damage the aircraft.
The case is now being handled by the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office and Salt Lake City Police Department, and Gapco is expected to appear in court soon.
