‘The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe demands a full and thorough investigation into Cole’s disappearance and subsequent death. Our Attorney General will be in touch with the Kansas Authority to ensure this is accomplished,’ the tribe stated in a statement to Native News.
The statement expressed the tribe’s ‘deepest sympathy and support’ for Cole’s ‘family and friends.’
‘He was an exemplary example of what it means to be a good relative, and we stand with you in your grief,’ it added.
‘Furthermore, we will provide information about counseling services for our young relatives who are students and reside in Lawrence, Kansas, as it becomes available.’
On Instagram, the actor’s uncle posted a missing persons poster of his nephew on April 2, stating that Cole had last been seen the previous Sunday on Easter night.
On the same day, the Kansas police issued an affidavit for Cole’s arrest in connection with a domestic violence incident.
According to 12News, officers received reports of a ‘female screaming for help’ on Sunday morning at an apartment in Lawrence.
It was alleged that Cole had ‘driven away from the scene and was thought to be headed southbound on Highway 59,’ the site claimed.
