The ongoing divorce proceedings between Lisa Hochstein and her estranged husband, Lenny Hochstein, have taken a new turn, with the couple now disagreeing over household possessions.
According to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly on June 6th, Lenny, aged 57, refuted Lisa’s allegations that he refused to reimburse her moving costs. Instead, he asserted that he merely requested proof of payment for these expenses, which she has allegedly failed to provide.
The court documents stated, “Given [Lisa’s] history of attempting to ‘mislead’ [Lenny] on financial matters, his request for proof of payment is reasonable.”
Lenny and his legal team also contested the reasonableness of Lisa’s actions, arguing that the rented apartment she moved into was already furnished, so there was no need for her to take any furniture, including a $35,000 Fendi foyer table.
It is also alleged that Lisa removed every plant, including a Christmas tree, and 90% of the artwork from the marital home, leaving Lenny with only a small fraction of the total. Additionally, Lenny accused Lisa of taking a waffle maker that he used every weekend to make waffles or French toast with their children, an 8-year-old son, Logan, and a 4-year-old daughter, Elle.
Court documents revealed that “[Lisa] never used [the waffle maker] and clearly took it to prevent [Lenny] from enjoying this weekend tradition with his children.”
When contacted for a statement about the latest court filing, Lisa expressed her sadness to Us, saying, “Lenny’s actions continue to sadden me as they hurt our children.”
Lisa’s attorney, Jordan Davis Modavi, further added that Lenny “persistently files baseless and frivolous motions riddled with false accusations.” He continued, “It is unfortunate that Lisa is forced to defend against these meritless claims, wasting financial resources that could be better spent on their children. While Lenny attempts to disparage Lisa through these legal maneuvers, she remains committed to prioritizing their children and hopes to peacefully co-parent with him.”
Lenny initiated divorce proceedings in May 2022, ending their 12-year marriage. He has since moved on and became engaged to model Katharina Mazepa in July 2023. Lisa, on the other hand, confirmed her relationship with Jody Glidden in February 2023.
In his latest court filing, Lenny accused Lisa of intentionally giving away his “expensive” wine bottles to her boyfriend. Although Lenny managed to recover most of the wine, Lisa allegedly took several bottles, including an “irreplaceable” 1947 bottle of Lafite Rothschild, which can fetch prices ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, as well as all the Dom Perignon and Cristal.
Lenny estimated that he had to spend $200,000 to replace all the items Lisa allegedly took.
The former couple has been locked in a contentious battle since the start of their highly publicized divorce. Following her recent move, Lisa, through her attorney, issued a statement regarding the marital settlement agreement.
“I didn’t want to divulge details of the MSA, but since Lenny brought it up, it states that he would retain the majority of the marital property, leaving me with the minority, which could be as low as 49 percent,” she told Us in September 2023. “To avoid further legal fees, I chose to take less than what I was entitled to. The MSA also states that if we disagree on this majority/minority split, we’ll mediate, which I’m willing to do.”
Lisa also expressed her surprise at Lenny’s reaction to the division of their assets. “Lenny recently valued his net worth at close to $70 million,” she said. “I was taken aback to learn that he would be upset about me taking one of the three dining room tables or three of his nine bedroom sets to make the transition easier for the children and me. Nonetheless, the MSA already allows me to take items as long as I don’t take the majority, and I estimate that I took about 10% of the marital household items.”
