Premier League Unveils New Scoreboard Goal Animations for Each Club, but Chelsea Fans Are Disappointed
The Premier League has introduced a new scoreboard goal animation for each of its 20 teams, but not all fans are thrilled with their team’s design. The animations were revealed on social media, showcasing a unique design for each club. While some fans were excited to see their team’s animation, others were left disappointed, with Chelsea supporters being the most vocal about their discontent.
The Chelsea goal animation features a blue flag being raised while displaying the word “GOAL.” This design was inspired by the famous club song “Keep The Blue Flag Flying High.” However, many Blues supporters took to social media to express their disappointment, calling the animation “boring” and “uninspired.”
One fan wrote, “Petition to get the Premier League to make a new and better goal animation for Chelsea.” Another fan moaned, “Every other club got their emblem involved somehow and they give us a blue flag????”
Chelsea fans will be hoping that their goal animation gets used for the first time this season on Sunday when Enzo Maresca’s side takes on Wolves at Molineux. Joao Felix could feature in that game, after the former loanee rejoined the Blues from Atletico Madrid in a £42.7million move this week.
The Premier League’s new scoreboard goal animations are a unique way to celebrate each team’s personality and style. While not all fans may be happy with their team’s design, the animations add an extra layer of excitement to the matchday experience.
