England Suffer Agonising Euro 2024 Final Loss to Spain: Heartbreaking Last-Gasp Moments Decide Destiny

England suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, with a late goal from Mikel Oyarzabal sealing the Spaniards’ record fourth tournament victory. The Three Lions had a flurry of chances to equalize in the dying minutes, but a combination of superb goalkeeping, last-ditch defending, and a missed opportunity from Declan Rice kept them from finding the net.

Rice had a golden opportunity to level the score after Cole Palmer’s brilliant corner kick, but his header was brilliantly saved by Unai Simon. The rebound fell to Marc Guehi, whose header was cleared off the line by Dani Olmo. In what would be England’s final chance, Rice nodded the ball over the crossbar from the ensuing clearance.

Spain dominated the early exchanges in Berlin, but England fought back towards the end of the first half. The Spaniards took the lead early in the second half through Nico Williams, who calmly slotted past Jordan Pickford from the back post. England managed to equalize through Cole Palmer’s precise finish, but Oyarzabal’s late goal proved to be the difference as Spain lifted the trophy.
