Ayesha Curry Overcome with Emotion in Confrontation with French Police
The 2024 Paris Olympics was not all triumph and celebration for NBA legend Steph Curry and his family. His wife, Ayesha, found herself in a tearful encounter with French authorities.
The TV personality, who was in Paris to support her husband as he led Team USA to victory over France in the gold medal game, was seen wiping away tears during a tense standoff with local police.
The incident, which was captured on video, shows Ayesha Curry and her mother-in-law, Sonya, visibly upset as they tried to make their way to their car, which was stuck in gridlock traffic due to French President Emmanuel Macron’s departure from the area.
It appears that Ayesha’s infant son, Caius, was accidentally hit on the head by someone in the chaos, prompting an emotional response from the family.
Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors teammate, Draymond Green, was present during the incident and was heard rebuking the authorities, saying, “So even after you hit the baby in the head, there’s still nothing you can do to get them out of here?”
The French authorities, however, remained unmoved by the family’s pleas, insisting that they had to stay put.
Prior to the confrontation, the Currys were on cloud nine, celebrating Steph’s crucial role in Team USA’s win over France, which earned them a gold medal. The 2x NBA MVP was instrumental in the team’s victory, hitting four three-pointers in the game’s closing moments.
The incident marked a somber end to an otherwise joyful Olympics experience for the Curry family.
