Former NFL star Jason Kelce has found a new workout coach in his wife, Kylie Kelce, and it’s been a game-changer for his fitness journey.
On a recent podcast, Jason revealed that Kylie has implemented a new workout routine for him, requiring him to exercise at least three days a week. “When I’ve worked out, I am in a great mood; I interact well at home with my kids and everybody –– I just am a better person,” he explained.
Jason, 36, also shared that when he doesn’t work out, he can feel unproductive and sluggish. This newfound commitment to fitness has already shown results, with Jason reporting that he’s lost weight and is feeling more energetic.
The couple, who married in 2018, have three daughters together and have been adjusting to life after Jason’s retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jason’s weight loss journey has been impressive, with him reporting that he’s down to 276 pounds, a significant drop from his pre-retirement weight of 295 pounds. He shared that during his NFL career, he was at his lightest in the 270s, but struggled to maintain that weight due to the demands of the game.
Aside from his fitness goals, Jason is also gearing up for his new role as an ESPN anchor for the NFL season. While he’s excited about the opportunity, he’s also nervous about the challenge of staying on top of his game without being an active player.
“I guess I’m fearful that I’m not going to be prepared because I feel like there’s a lot more like autonomy on making sure you’re on top of your stuff,” he said. “Once you’re removed from [being in the NFL], you got to go out of your way to really watch things and really iron in on what’s happening, to do a reputable job.”
Jason’s journey into the world of broadcasting is an exciting new chapter for the former NFL star, and with Kylie by his side, he’s ready to take on the challenge.
