Travis Kelce has fully embraced his Swiftie status.
Just as Taylor Swift showed her support for the athlete at numerous 2024 NFL season games, Kelce returned the favor by attending several stops on her Eras Tour. The tour, which featured music from Swift’s extensive discography, served as the catalyst for their relationship. Kelce publicly revealed his crush on Swift after witnessing her captivating performance in Kansas City in July 2023.
Their relationship initially made headlines in September 2023 when Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game. However, in a subsequent interview for the TIME Person of the Year cover story in December 2023, Swift disclosed that their romance had actually begun shortly after her Missouri tour stop.
“We had a significant amount of time to ourselves before anyone knew,” Swift shared, emphasizing that they were already an official couple by the time she attended her first Chiefs game. She humorously added, “We would never be crazy enough to make our first date a public event.”
In February 2024, an insider revealed to Us Weekly that Kelce would be “joining Taylor on her tour and traveling with her” post Super Bowl LVIII. They added that the couple was “happy and looking forward to spending more time together.” (The Chiefs went on to secure their second consecutive Super Bowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers.)
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit all the times Kelce showed up to support Swift during her Eras Tour concerts:
July 2023
Prior to their relationship, Kelce attempted to catch Swift’s attention by giving her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at her Kansas City Eras Tour show. On an episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, Kelce shared his disappointment at not being able to personally hand Swift the bracelet due to her strict pre- and post-show routine of preserving her voice.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally,” Kelce joked. Despite this minor setback, he praised Swift’s performance, calling it “unbelievable.”
Swift later revealed to TIME that she “started hanging out” with Kelce after he “adorably put [her] on blast on his podcast,” a move she found “metal as hell.”
November 2023
Two months after their relationship went public, Kelce took a break from his football schedule to fly to Buenos Aires for his second Eras Tour concert. During the show’s finale, Swift surprised both Kelce and the fans by altering the lyrics of her final song, “Karma,” from “guy on the screen,” a reference to her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, to “guy on the Chiefs.”
Fans captured Kelce’s heartwarming reaction to the lyric change on social media. Swift’s father, Scott Swift, playfully pushed Kelce, who covered his face with his hands, clearly overwhelmed by the gesture. The couple was later spotted sharing a passionate kiss backstage.
On the “New Heights” podcast, Kelce later admitted that while he had “a little bit of a clue” about the lyric change, it still “shocked” him. He also apologized for leaving Scott Swift hanging when he attempted to give him a high-five during the finale song, acknowledging that he usually never misses an opportunity for a high-five.
February 2024
Following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII victory, Kelce headed to Sydney for the second leg of Swift’s Australia Eras Tour shows. At the first of her four nights at Accor Stadium, Kelce hung out in a VIP tent with fellow celebrity attendees Rita Ora, Taika Waititi, and Katy Perry. He was also spotted handing out guitar picks to fans with his friend and fellow football player, Ross Travis.
Swift reciprocated the love by giving her boyfriend several subtle but sweet nods during her performance. In addition to changing the “Karma” lyric again, she pointed to Kelce while singing the “Willow” lyric “That’s my man” and the “Long Live” line “When they gave us our trophies.” The latter shout-out seemed to reference both Kelce’s Super Bowl victory and her recent Grammy Awards wins. The couple was later seen sharing another affectionate embrace and kiss backstage.
On the “New Heights” podcast, Kelce raved about his time in Australia, saying, “Shout-out to Australia for showing up, showing out. Taylor’s very fond of performing in Australia because of the crowds over there and how into it they get.”
March 2024
Kelce was spotted grooving at one of Swift’s shows in Singapore on March 8, where she once again altered the “Karma” lyric to give a shout-out to the “guy on the Chiefs.” After the song, Swift ran off stage and straight into Kelce’s arms for a kiss. The following night, Kelce was seen again in the crowd, enthusiastically supporting his girlfriend.
April 2024
Kelce traveled to Paris to attend Swift’s Eras Tour concert as she celebrated her 87th show—a number that holds significance as it matches his NFL jersey number. Swift blew kisses in Kelce’s direction throughout the performance, and he returned the love by filming her and dancing along to her songs.
June 2024
Kelce attended three of Swift’s Eras Tour shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and even surprised fans by joining Swift on stage during her Tortured Poets Department set. Dressed in a matching morning suit and top hat, Kelce picked Swift up and carried her across the stage, performed a special dance, and playfully applied pretend blush on both of their faces.
