Sean Dyche, the Everton manager, has expressed his concerns about the uncertainty surrounding Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future at the club. Despite the striker’s importance to the team, Dyche has admitted that any player can still be sold this summer if the right offer comes in.
The Toffees are currently dealing with an injury crisis, with only 14 first-team players available for their upcoming match against Tottenham. Dyche has refused to rule out the possibility of selling Calvert-Lewin, stating that any offer of a certain level would need to be considered by the club.
“We’re in a better position because of how we’ve done our player trading and how much we’ve lowered our wages, but it’s not solved,” Dyche explained. “There would still be a moment where the big people at the club get a phone call and go, ‘Right, here’s the reality, we’ve been offered this’.”
Everton has already rejected several offers from Manchester United for defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who is currently injured, and has set a £75million valuation on him. The club is also monitoring Kieran Trippier, but Dyche has cast doubt on their ability to sign him due to financial constraints.
With the transfer window set to close soon, Dyche is eager for it to end, saying that he will be relieved when it’s over. “We’ll see what happens, but I think we all know the reality of the situation,” he added.
