Prince William’s Annual Earnings Revealed
Prince William’s annual income has been disclosed, and it’s a staggering amount. As the Duke of Cornwall, he inherited the title and the estate when his father, King Charles, ascended to the throne in 2022. The 42-year-old prince received a whopping $30.4 million in his first full year’s income.
According to the Duchy of Cornwall’s Integrated Annual Report, the figure represents the total earnings from the inheritance for the 2023-2024 financial year. The sum includes the “official, charitable, and private expenses” of Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton, and their three children.
As the heir to the British throne, Prince William is entitled to the surplus profits of the Duchy of Cornwall estate, which was established by King Edward III in 1337. The estate spans 23 English counties, mostly in the south-west of England, and covers land and houses across 130,000 acres, valued at over $1 billion.
Although the prince’s income is unconventional, he is not exempt from paying taxes. The total tax amount was not disclosed in the report.
In other news, Prince William and Middleton are searching for a new assistant private secretary for Wales and the United Kingdom. The job description, posted on Kensington Palace’s website, requires the successful candidate to speak Welsh and support the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The new hire could signal Middleton’s gradual return to royal duties, following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. Meanwhile, Prince William has maintained a busy schedule, recently lifting spirits after England’s defeat in the UEFA European Championship final to Spain.
The England national soccer team lost 2-1 to the Spanish side at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, with Prince William and Prince George, 10, watching on.
