New York Giants tight end Darren Waller has released a song and music video, seemingly inspired by his recent divorce from wife Kelsey Plum. The song, titled ‘Who Knew (Her Perspective),’ offers a glimpse into Waller’s emotions following the highly publicized split.
The video, released on Thursday, features Waller singing from the viewpoint of a woman navigating the challenges of love and heartbreak. It includes scenes of Waller and a brunette actress portraying a couple facing relationship struggles, ultimately culminating in a dramatic ending on a beach.

In an Instagram post, Waller shared his thoughts on the creative process behind the song, explaining how he wanted to explore a different perspective. “There’s something extremely valuable (and quite humbling) about putting yourself in the shoes of those you have been intimate with and taking an honest look at yourself,” he wrote.
However, the video has received mixed reactions, with Kansas City Chiefs star defensive end Chris Jones expressing his disapproval on Twitter, calling it “terrible.”
The song’s release comes just weeks after Waller and Plum filed for divorce in Nevada. Plum, a star in her own right as a WNBA player for the Las Vegas Aces, shared her own thoughts on social media, expressing devastation but also gratitude for the support she has received.

The couple’s relationship had been the subject of speculation earlier this year when Waller posted a TikTok video of himself dancing to a remix of The Delfonics’ song ‘Think It Over,’ with the caption “When ya girl bout to leave you.” Despite later dismissing it as a joke, the video fueled rumors of a potential split.
Now, with the divorce proceedings underway, both Waller and Plum are focusing on their respective careers. Plum, in particular, is determined to lead the Las Vegas Aces to a third consecutive WNBA championship.
