Crystal Hefner is taking steps to protect her reputation. The widow of Hugh Hefner has sent a cease and desist letter to his former girlfriend, Holly Madison, over comments made on Madison’s podcast, “Girls Next Level.”
According to TMZ, Hefner’s lawyer described Madison’s remarks as “malicious and intentionally misleading” and argued that they are causing Hefner “serious harm.”
Among the comments in question are insinuations that Hefner kept the late Playboy founder “under the influence” in his final years to take advantage of him financially. However, Hefner’s lawyer refuted these claims, stating that she was “steadfast in her commitment” to Hefner and ensured he received the best medical care.
The letter also stated that legal action would be taken if Madison continued to make similar comments. Hefner’s attorney reinforced this, telling TMZ, “Ms. Hefner will not have her name and reputation tarnished by opportunists.”
Madison, who dated Hugh from 2001 to 2008, acknowledged receiving a cease and desist letter in cryptic social media posts, though she didn’t confirm the sender. “Imagine running a free speech foundation and then sending someone a cease and desist for talking ,” she wrote on Twitter. She also shared a video on her Instagram Stories of her using a copy of a cease and desist letter as toilet paper.
Madison, Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson were all featured on E!’s The Girls Next Door, which gave an inside look at their lives as Hugh’s live-in girlfriends. Crystal Hefner was introduced in the show’s final season in 2009, after Hugh’s relationship with Madison ended. She and Hugh married in December 2012 and remained together until his death in September 2017.
