Frances Bean Cobain, 31, was pictured with her husband Riley Hawk, 31, in an ultra-rare Instagram snapshot inside their home Monday evening

 

The second-generation stars were pictured in a formal shot Riley posted to Instagram Sunday with the caption, ‘Happy birthday to my queen!’

Frances, daughter of the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, has been open about her struggles with self-acceptance and finding her place in the world.

In a heartfelt post last year, Frances reflected on her journey, saying she was grateful to have made it to her 30th birthday, a milestone she wasn’t sure she’d reach.

Frances was a one-year-old when she accompanied her parents, Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain to the MTV Video Music Awards in September of 1993 in LA

Frances has been married to Riley, son of skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, since last October. The couple’s wedding was officiated by R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe.

In her previous interview with Rolling Stone, Frances spoke candidly about her complicated relationship with her father’s legacy, saying she wasn’t a huge fan of Nirvana’s music.
