Clement Demands Unyielding Ferocity Before Pivotal Kyiv Showdown

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has emphasized the need for his team to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to overcome Dynamo Kyiv in their Champions League qualifier on Tuesday night.

Clement’s side defeated Motherwell at Hampden yesterday, thanks to first-half goals from Cyriel Dessers and Vaclav Cerny, who impressed on his first start for the club.

Despite dominating the match, Rangers struggled to make an impact in the second half, failing to add to their lead. Clement acknowledged that his team will need to sharpen up in front of goal to succeed against Kyiv.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement wants his side to be more ruthless in front of goal

Clement believes that his team will need to be at their best to overcome Kyiv, saying: “We need to be really efficient in that game. We won’t get 19 shots like today, or nine on target like today.”

He praised Cerny’s performance, saying: “He’s an experienced player who can help the team a lot in the way we want to play football.”

Clement also expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance against Motherwell, saying: “I saw very positive things today. We started excellently, with good football, with good running actions, with the right choices on the ball.”

Meanwhile, Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell was proud of his team’s effort despite being without seven first-team players.

Kettlewell questioned the decision to add only two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game, saying: “I felt there was more than two minutes to be added at the end. That was a real surprise.”
