Bachelor Nation’s Bryan Abasolo has accused his estranged wife, Rachel Lindsay, of handling his spousal support payments in a disrespectful manner, and he’s got the proof to back it up.
Abasolo, 44, claims Lindsay, 37, sent him a “highly offensive text” along with the first half of his $13,257 monthly payment, as revealed in court documents. The message allegedly read, “BofA: Glender Ruth Llc sent you $6,628.50 for ‘Temp Leech Money,'” which Abasolo took offense to, as he feels Lindsay is portraying him as a “leech” despite being the one making the payments.
Abasolo claims he has been trying to work cooperatively with Lindsay to resolve their divorce amicably, but she continues to “obstruct the process” and “instigate confrontation.” He alleges that she has been spinning a false narrative about her cooperation with the court.
Us confirmed in January that Abasolo filed for divorce after four years of marriage, following their whirlwind romance on The Bachelorette in 2017.
Abasolo initially requested $75,000 for legal fees, claiming he was only making $1,300 and couldn’t cover the costs. Lindsay argued that Abasolo was still living in her home, for which she paid 90 percent of the expenses, and that the public was unaware of their private financial information.
Last month, Us confirmed that Lindsay was ordered to pay Abasolo $13,257 in temporary spousal support per month until their divorce is settled. She must also pay $15,000 in attorney’s fees and $5,000 for forensic expert expenses.
Abasolo has since requested access to $35,000 of community property to cover his legal fees, alleging that Lindsay has been holding his money hostage. He claims she has $88,500 in their Charles Schwab accounts and $259,207 in community property funds in her Bank of America sole proprietor account, which he believes should be used to cover his legal costs.
Abasolo also asked the court to fine Lindsay $5,000 for allegedly refusing to contribute to his attorney’s fees and costs. He stated that he wants to “level the playing field” and use his forensic accountant, Anna Leh, but cannot do so without payment.
Abasolo claims Lindsay believes she has an exclusive right to access their community property funds to pay for her professionals and that she thinks their community property home is all hers.
