Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce experienced a unique surprise at the American Century Championship on Friday.
As he prepared to tee off at the 17th hole, speakers blasted a remixed version of “Lavender Haze” by his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Kelce, clearly enjoying the moment, bobbed his head to the beat before smashing a tee shot with an iron as the song continued to play.
He was joined at the tournament by his brother, Jason Kelce, who co-hosts the ‘New Heights’ podcast with him. The younger Kelce finished the day with an impressive -2 points in the Stableford scoring system, placing him 62nd out of 90 golfers.

Unfortunately, the Kelce brothers also had some errant shots during their round. One of Travis’ drives hit a 20-something woman, leaving her bloodied and in need of medical attention, as reported by People. The woman was treated by paramedics and eventually stood up after sitting on the ground for several minutes.
Earlier in the round, Travis also made contact with a male fan, hitting his arm with a golf ball. A video posted to Twitter shows Kelce marching down the course with a police officer to find the fan. He shook the man’s hand and leaned in to kiss his arm, a gesture that was met with laughter and cheers from the crowd.
The 35th annual American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe presented an opportunity for the Kelce brothers to showcase their skills and interact with fans, despite some unintended mishaps along the way.
