Broken Star: Christina Applegate’s Shocking Self-Description Raises Eyebrows

Christina Applegate Opens Up About Struggles with Multiple Sclerosis

Famed actress Christina Applegate has shared a candid account of her struggles with multiple sclerosis (MS), likening herself to a beloved children’s book character.

During a recent episode of her podcast “MeSsy” with co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate, 52, revealed that she has no muscle in her legs, leaving her feeling like Humpty Dumpty. “I look like Humpty Dumpty. My little tiny, weird legs and then my big menopausal belly,” she said.

The conversation was part of a larger discussion on how their bodies have changed while battling MS. Sigler, 43, who was diagnosed with MS at 20, recalled being an active and athletic person before her diagnosis.

“I was the most active, athletic — if everyone was going to go play a sport, I was in it till the end,” Sigler said. “If everyone was going to go for a walk, I was the first one to be out in the street. That was me, that was my personality. That was my life. I just always wanted to be doing something, and up and out, I was never home. Now I feel like I’m always home.”

Applegate, on the other hand, was more of a homebody in her youth. “I just wanted to be home. I just liked being home. I liked being in my bed,” she explained. However, after starting her acting career, her lifestyle changed. Now, she’s spending most of her time “back in my bed.”
