**Ivan Toney Warned Against Saudi Arabia Move Amid Transfer Interest**
Ivan Toney has been cautioned that a move to the Saudi Pro League would be a waste of his peak years, amid interest from Al-Ahli and other clubs.
Toney was left out of Brentford’s squad for their Premier League season opener against Crystal Palace on Sunday, as the Bees earned a 2-1 win without him.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank confirmed ahead of the match that Toney had been left out due to transfer interest, with Al-Ahli considering making an improved offer for the striker after having an initial £35million bid rejected.
Brentford are maintaining an asking price of £60m, but Al-Ahli’s next offer could be between £45-£50m.

Former Premier League winner Chris Sutton has warned Toney against making the move to Saudi Arabia, suggesting it would be a waste of his prime years.
Sutton believes Toney has all the attributes to succeed in the Premier League and should prioritize staying in England over a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.
“At this stage of his career, I think Saudi is a no-no,” Sutton said. “He has proven himself in the Premier League and has all the attributes. His link-up play, physicality, set-piece ability, and all-round play have developed really well.”
Sutton suggested Toney could be a good fit for a Premier League giant like Manchester United, who are currently striker-less.

Toney has previously spoken about signing for a “top club” that is fighting for titles, but Sutton believes he should prioritize his footballing career over a lucrative move.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has admitted he hopes a transfer can be completed soon, saying: “A deal is not close but we hope it will be. He has been one of our best players, if not our best player over a long spell.”

Toney has scored 72 goals in 141 appearances for Brentford and broke the 20-goal barrier in the 2022-23 Premier League season.
