Chelsea in Talks with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen Over Wages Amid Transfer Speculation
Chelsea have engaged in further discussions with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen regarding his wages, as the Blues aim to reach an agreement that would facilitate his transfer to Stamford Bridge.
In addition to their pursuit of Osimhen, Chelsea are also considering a deal for Benfica centre-back Tomas Araujo, should they need to bolster their defensive ranks in the event of player sales before the transfer window closes.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli recently submitted an initial bid of £55million for Osimhen, with Chelsea having been linked to the Nigerian striker for much of the summer.
Chelsea’s preferred approach to securing a deal for Osimhen involves a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy, rather than an outright purchase.
Napoli and Osimhen have indicated a willingness to lower their demands to facilitate a deal, which could potentially be finalized before the end of the transfer window.
