Chelsea Eyeing Three New Signings Before the End of the Window
- New Manager Enzo Maresca Wants to Strengthen the Team’s Attacking Options
- The Club is Targeting Three Players Before the Transfer Window Closes
- Chelsea Are Planning to Do Plenty of Business This Summer
Chelsea are gearing up for a busy end to the transfer window, with three new signings on the horizon. The club’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, is keen to strengthen the team’s attacking options before the window slams shut.
Manchester are close to agreeing a £70million sale of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid, which will pave the way for Atletico to sell striker Samu Omorodion to Chelsea for around £35m in a separate deal. This comes as Conor Gallagher is set to sign a five-year contract with Atletico, with the midfielder due in Madrid on Tuesday.
Chelsea are also trying to add Napoli’s Victor Osimhen to their roster, while young defender Alfie Gilchrist is heading to Sheffield United on loan. The Blues are closing in on Gremio midfielder Gabriel Mec, 16, for £20m, as they look to bolster their squad.

The Blues have held talks with Atletico over a potential move for Omorodion, who is part of Spain’s squad at the Olympics and found the net against Egypt in the group stages. AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham are amongst the other clubs interested in the forward.
Omorodion joined Atletico in August 2023, signing a five-year contract before being sent on loan to Granada, where he scored eight goals in 34 LaLiga games.

Chelsea informed Gallagher that it was best for the academy product to move on, with the midfielder set to sign a five-year contract with Atletico. Gallagher had been open to staying at Chelsea but wanted a longer-term deal than the two-year offer he received.
The London club have also been in talks with Napoli over a deal that could see the Blues sign forward Victor Osimhen, while Romelu Lukaku could join the Serie A side. Osimhen has starred in Italy since joining Napoli in a reported club record £80m move from Lille in 2020.
Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli and played a key role in their Serie A title win in the 2022-23 season. The forward had signed a new contract in December, extending his Napoli deal until 2026.
The deal saw Osimhen secure a major pay rise, while his release clause reportedly increased to €130m (£113m).
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Osimhen in recent seasons, and it remains to be seen if they can secure a deal for the Nigerian international before the transfer window closes.
