New details have emerged regarding Billy Ray Cyrus’ unexpected divorce filing from his Australian wife, Firerose, after only seven months of marriage.
According to reports, the 62-year-old singer cited both irreconcilable differences and ‘inappropriate marital conduct’ as reasons for their split. Furthermore, Cyrus is seeking an annulment, claiming that the marriage was entered into fraudulently.
The divorce documents, filed last month, state that their date of separation was May 22, 2024. In court documents obtained by E!, Cyrus states that he is seeking an annulment because he “gave consent to the marriage based on Fraud by the Wife, and that had he known, he would not have entered into the bonds of matrimony.”

It appears that Billy wanted Firerose, 34, out of their home by May 24, and he has offered to pay up to $500 per night for her lodging expenses over a 10-day period. After the 10 days have passed, he is willing to provide $5,000 per month to assist her in finding a suitable new home in Tennessee.
Billy is prepared to make these payments either over a 90-day period or until their divorce is officially finalized, whichever comes first. The payments must be made on the first of the month.

The singer married his Australian wife in October 2023 but filed for divorce in late May, according to TMZ. She was his third wife, as he was previously married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 and to Tish Cyrus, the mother of Miley Cyrus, from 1993 to 2022.
The divorce case notes that there are no minor children between them.
Tish Cyrus, who shares three children with Billy Ray, including Miley Cyrus, married Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in 2023.
Billy and Firerose had previously spoken fondly about their romance and the unexpected way they met and eventually married.
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show last year, Clarkson asked the couple about their first encounter. Firerose recalled, ‘It’s actually a funny story because I was walking out of an audition on Sunset Gala in Hollywood.’

Their wedding took place over a year after they initially announced their engagement and almost two years after Billy Ray’s divorce from Tish Cyrus.
The hitmaker exchanged vows with the Australian singer in October, just two months after his ex-wife, Tish, married Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in August.
In a joint Instagram post with his new wife, Billy sweetly penned, ’10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony.’
Cyrus expressed, ‘It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.’

In addition to Miley, Billy Ray and Tish share children Brandi, 37, Trace, 35, whom she had from a previous relationship and he adopted, and son Braison, 29. Billy is also father to son Christopher Cody, 32.
