In a heart-wrenching social media post on Wednesday, Heather Locklear revealed that her father, Bill, had passed away at the age of 94.

The actress, known for her role in the iconic show Melrose Place, shared a touching photo of her beloved father, expressing her deep love and admiration for him.

Locklear’s emotional caption read, “The most brilliant man I have ever known. You set the bar high, the love of my life. The few, the proud. I love you, dad. Rest in peace.”

According to a source, Bill had been facing health challenges for some time and was hospitalized in February. This difficult period was understandably stressful for the family.

Celebrities and friends, including Locklear’s ex-husband, Tommy Lee, offered their condolences. Lee expressed his sorrow at losing such a wonderful man and sent his love to Heather and her family. Lee’s wife, Brittany Furlan, also shared her condolences, grateful for the opportunity to have met Bill.

Locklear is set to reprise her iconic role as the glamorous ad executive Amanda Woodward in the highly anticipated Melrose Place reboot.

In addition to the reboot, Locklear has several exciting projects in the works, including her daughter Ava’s wedding. When asked about the wedding plans, Locklear shared that Ava is currently enjoying her engagement.

The upcoming Melrose Place sequel series, announced in April, will bring back original cast members, including Daphne Zuniga (Jo Reynolds) and Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews), according to Deadline.

The new series, created by Insatiable’s Lauren Gussis, will be set several years after the original show’s seven-season run on Fox from 1992 to 1999. The story will pick up with the original Melrose Place residents reuniting following the sudden death of one of their friends.

Heather Locklear rose to fame in the 80s and 90s, first as Sammy Jo, Blake Carrington’s daughter-in-law on Dynasty, and later as Officer Stacy Sheridan on the police drama T.J. Hooker. Her most memorable role, however, was as the manipulative Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place.

She also appeared in the sitcom Spin City, playing the campaign manager for a New York Mayor running for Senator. Locklear received six Golden Globe nominations for her work in Melrose Place and Spin City, showcasing her talent and impact on television.

On a personal note, Locklear has been engaged to former motocross racer Chris Heisser since April 2020. The couple first dated in high school but lost touch for 40 years. During that time, Locklear married musicians Tommy Lee and Richie Sambora, with whom she shares her 26-year-old daughter, Ava.

Ava’s engagement to Tyler Farrar, her partner of four years, was announced on social media in February.
