Beverly Hills Power Couple’s Reality TV Dream Shattered

Netflix Cancels Reality Series Buying Beverly Hills After Two Seasons

The reality TV show Buying Beverly Hills, which starred Mauricio Umansky and his daughters Farrah and Alexia, has been axed by Netflix after two seasons. The show, which premiered in late 2022, followed the lives of Umansky and his family as they navigated the world of high-end real estate in Beverly Hills.

According to sources, the cancellation is due to viewership, rather than the cost of production. The show’s second season, which premiered in March, shed light on Umansky’s marriage woes with his estranged wife, Kyle Richards, as well as his strained relationship with his brother-in-law, Rick Hilton.

The show’s second season also explored Umansky’s daughters, Sophia and Portia, becoming involved in the family business. The unscripted series premiered in late 2022 and was promoted by Umansky on social media.

In a season two episode, Richards and Umansky joked about what they each would get in their divorce, following their separation announcement. The reality TV personality and the real estate broker were seen bantering after news broke that they had separated after 27 years of marriage.

Umansky also admitted in one episode that he was afraid to ask his estranged wife if she was dating her close friend, singer Morgan Wade. The show’s cancellation comes as a surprise to fans, who had grown attached to the Umansky family’s drama and real estate ventures.

The exes married in 1996 and have four daughters together: Farrah, 35, Alexia, 28, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 16. Throughout the season, the family navigated their separation and addressed their personal struggles, including Umansky’s fear of not being able to communicate with his wife.
