In a shocking turn of events, reality TV star Raymond Ford, known for his appearances on Love After Lockup and Life After Lockup, was taken into custody earlier this month on charges of domestic assault. New details have emerged, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
According to the criminal complaint, Ford allegedly “intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly” caused bodily harm to his partner, Britney Ford, by striking her with his hand. However, the complaint provides no further information about the incident.
A copy of the police report was obtained, but it was heavily redacted, offering limited insight into the events that led to Ford’s arrest. The report’s lack of transparency has only added to the mystery surrounding the incident.
Britney Secures Restraining Order Against Ray
The day following Ford’s arrest, an emergency order of protection was issued, prohibiting him from approaching the couple’s residence or Britney’s workplace within a 200-yard radius.
While Ford is permitted to communicate with Britney, he is not allowed to engage in threatening or harassing behavior. However, a condition of his bond stipulates that he must refrain from contacting the victim or any member of her family or household.
Ford signed the order of protection on August 12, which will remain in effect for 51 days, until October 11, 2024.
Notably, the order of protection was requested by a law enforcement officer, rather than Britney herself.
Furthermore, the filing describes Britney as Ford’s spouse, dispelling rumors that the couple may have divorced. Ford’s marital status was listed as “single” when he was booked into jail, sparking speculation about the state of their relationship.
Ford is scheduled to appear in court on September 12 to face the misdemeanor charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Family Violence).
