Inside Out 2’s phenomenal success at the box office continues to soar, with the animated film raking in a staggering $1.462 billion worldwide as of Wednesday, surpassing another animated blockbuster in the process.
The movie, which boasts an impressive voice cast, including Amy Poehler and Maya Hawke as Joy and Anxiety respectively, has eclipsed the 2019 Disney film Frozen II’s global box office earnings of $1.45 billion, according to industry reports.
As of Wednesday, Inside Out 2 has accumulated $601 million in domestic revenue and a whopping $861.8 million in international earnings since its theatrical release on June 14.
Frozen II, from Disney Animation, had previously held the title with a global total of $1.451 billion upon its release in November 2019, with $477 million in domestic revenue and $972 million in international box office earnings.
With Inside Out 2’s monumental achievement, Frozen II has been relegated to the second spot for highest-grossing animated movies of all time.

The animated film is projected to soon pass the domestic revenue of Incredibles 2, which made $608 million domestically, and is expected to continue its impressive run in Europe and Latin America.
Inside Out 2 has already become the highest-earning Pixar film ever in worldwide box office, without inflation adjustment, having eclipsed what Incredibles 2 made worldwide earlier this month.
The massive success of Inside Out 2 is a welcome respite for Pixar and Disney after a string of underperforming films, including 2022’s Lightyear, 2022’s Strange World, and 2023’s Elemental.
The movie’s remarkable performance has bucked the trend of viewers waiting for family films to arrive on streaming services, instead opting to see them at the movie theater.
Inside Out 2 is slated to spend a total of 100 days in theaters, with projections putting it on the streaming service Disney+ around late September or early October.
