The Alias star, 52, looked radiant in a sky blue dress adorned with colorful floral designs, paired with burgundy heels. She held hands with her mother, who exuded elegance in a white jacket with gold buttons and black trousers.
During their appearance on Today, Jennifer praised her mother while promoting her popular social media series, Pretend Cooking Show. They even cooked blackberry cobbler together during the show.

When asked if she had taught her daughter everything she knew about cooking, Pat humbly replied, ‘Oh goodness no. She’s a much better cook than me.’ Jennifer quickly countered, ‘Oh mom, that’s not true at all. You cooked every meal while I was growing up.’
Pat clarified, ‘I cooked every meal when you were young.’ When asked if she loved cooking or ‘just had to do it’, she replied, ‘I thought I loved it. But I don’t cook anymore. And I love that too.’
Jennifer took the opportunity to rave about her mother, describing her as ‘pretty special’ and highlighting her kind and compassionate nature. She shared a heartwarming story about how her mother once helped a confused man shopping at a fabric store.

Jennifer recalled, ‘When we were little, we were at Joann Fabric’s and mom was looking at patterns. There was a man looking befuddled, and the next thing we knew, he was at our house, in my dad’s robe, and my mom was hemming his pants and feeding him lunch! I’m not sure Dad was thrilled about Mom bringing a stranger home, but she just wanted to help.’
She continued, ‘She’s also a mom who doesn’t believe in guilt. Guilt is a useless emotion.’ Jennifer attributed her mother’s encouragement to her decision to pursue acting, sharing, ‘When I was younger and thought I could never be an actor, my mom said, “Just live in New York! Go! Go have your life.”‘

The conversation took a heartfelt turn as Hoda Kotb mentioned the passing of Pat’s husband, William, in March. She commended Pat’s resilience and strength, to which Pat replied, ‘I pretty much decided anyway, before, that I would be alright. I was so worried about being a widow, and then one day I had an epiphany, “You will be alright.”‘
Pat continued, ‘And I really have been alright. Now, I miss him, and I so wanted to tell him I was going to be on the Today show.’ Hoda struggled to hold back tears during this emotional exchange.
Jennifer turned to her mother and said, ‘He loved how much people love you, so he would be right there smiling,’ as Savannah noted that the couple had been married for 59 years.
When Hoda brought up Jennifer’s touching Instagram tribute to her father, the Daredevil actress replied, ‘Oh yeah, I mean how lucky to grow up with parents like mine. My sisters and I have always been aware of how wonderful they are.’
