During the episode of Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Kelly shared that his father and grandmother were accused of murdering his grandfather. He recounted the disturbing story, stating that his father’s head was blown off, and both he and his grandmother were acquitted.

Kelly first shared this emotional story in his Life in Pink documentary. In the podcast, he recalled having a profound conversation with his father about the shooting before his father’s passing.

Kelly revealed that his father’s childhood experiences had a profound impact on him, stating, “My father’s childhood journey definitely bled into my mind because we shared the same bed for years.” He explained that as an intuitive person, he took on his father’s energy and emotions, which affected his own life.

Kelly also shared how his father’s experiences influenced his own rise to stardom. He believes that he projected himself as someone who could endure the hardships of fame and criticism because of his father’s past.

However, Kelly confessed that he’s tired of maintaining this image and is now focused on healing and fixing himself. He expressed his desire to be more authentic and vulnerable, rather than the tough persona he’s portrayed in the past.

Kelly has referenced his mom in his music over the years, but he clarified that he didn’t have the full picture of her truth during that time. Now, he’s working to understand her side of the story and promote healing and growth.
