Halle Berry’s bid to force her ex-husband Olivier Martinez to attend co-parenting therapy sessions has been denied by a judge.
The Oscar-winning actress, 57, and Martinez, 58, have been at odds over their son Maceo, 10, since their divorce was finalized in August 2023. The former couple had agreed to attend therapy sessions to resolve their disputes and improve their co-parenting skills, but Martinez allegedly delayed the sessions, citing a desire to take the summer off.
Berry claimed that Martinez’s absence from the therapy sessions was hindering their son’s development and best interests. She also accused Martinez of involving Maceo in their arguments, leading the child to act out against her.

However, Martinez’s legal team argued that Berry was attempting to strong-arm him into submission using her wealth and legal resources. They claimed that Maceo was not in immediate harm and that Berry’s request did not qualify for an emergency order.
The judge ultimately sided with Martinez, denying Berry’s bid to force him to attend the therapy sessions.

Berry and Martinez had agreed to attend one solo session and at least six joint sessions with a child and adult psychiatrist to resolve their disputes and improve their co-parenting skills.
Berry’s boyfriend, Van Hunt, 54, may also be involved in the co-parenting therapy sessions, according to court documents.

Berry and Martinez have a joint custody arrangement, with Berry paying Martinez $8,000 a month in child support, as well as expenses for Maceo’s health insurance, therapy, and school.
The former couple has been embroiled in a bitter custody battle since their divorce, with Berry accusing Martinez of involving Maceo in their arguments and causing him emotional distress.
Martinez has denied the allegations, claiming that Berry is attempting to strong-arm him into submission using her wealth and legal resources.
The judge’s decision is the latest development in the ongoing custody battle between the former couple.
