English football sensation Phil Foden has been spotted making the most of his summer break, indulging in his favorite hobby – fishing! The 24-year-old Manchester City midfielder was photographed reeling in some impressive catches on a five-day family trip to a £14-a-day lake in Oxfordshire.

Foden, who recently helped England reach the Euro 2024 final, has long been an avid angler and often shares his fishing adventures on social media. This time, he was joined by his father, Phil Sr, at the Linear Fisheries site in Witney, where they spent their days fishing for catfish, carp, tench, pike, and perch.

The attacking midfielder, who has been enjoying some well-deserved downtime after a grueling season, was seen posing with several prize catches, including a massive fish that looked like it put up quite a fight. Foden’s love for fishing is not a secret, and he has often spoken about how it helps him unwind and recharge.

In fact, Foden has revealed that most of his football friends don’t share his passion for angling, with him saying, “Probably about 95% of the football lads don’t enjoy it. They don’t understand why you enjoy it.” However, he believes it’s the perfect hobby to rest his legs and have some downtime.

This summer, Foden was also spotted fishing with his younger brother Logan off the side of a yacht during a family holiday to Marbella. His passion for fishing has clearly stuck with him throughout his already glittering career.

The Manchester City star will return to training on Monday, ahead of the coming campaign, where his side will look to continue their unprecedented run of domestic dominance in the top flight. Their first game is scheduled against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
