Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have become the latest high-profile victims of a string of burglaries in the Los Angeles area, with their Pacific Palisades home being targeted in broad daylight.
According to law enforcement officials, the thieves smashed through the glass to gain access to a guest house on the property, triggering the security alarm. Despite the alarm, the criminals were able to enter the $26 million cliffside residence.
The actors were not at home at the time of the break-in, and it is unclear what, if anything, was stolen. The case is currently under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

The recent break-in is part of a string of burglaries in the area, with popstar Bhad Bhabie and actress Sarah Hyland also falling victim to the surge in thefts.
