**Paul Scholes Exudes Confidence in Manchester United’s New Signings**
Legendary midfielder Paul Scholes has expressed his excitement about Manchester United’s recent signings, stating that the club is headed in the right direction.
Erik ten Hag’s side has already secured the services of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, with Scholes believing that these additions will bring a fresh perspective to the team. The ex-United star emphasized the importance of keeping players fit to avoid another injury crisis, which plagued the team last season.
“I’m really excited for the new season,” Scholes said. “The big thing for United is keeping players from last season fit. It was a real struggle to have a full squad, and some of the performances last season showed the impact that had.”
Scholes also highlighted the significance of adding more experience to the squad, citing the importance of a balanced team. “If these two signings are right, and we get a bit more experience in with them, then I’m hoping for a good season,” he added.
Manchester United has embarked on their pre-season tour in the USA, with several players, including Zirkzee, granted time off due to their involvement in Euro 2024 and Copa America. The majority of the players are expected to return by early August.

However, Scholes also emphasized the need for more new additions to avoid a crisis similar to the one seen at the end of last season, which saw Casemiro deployed at centre-back.

Kobbie Mainoo, who starred for England at Euro 2024, is another player who was not included in Ten Hag’s 29-man tour squad. Scholes believes that Mainoo will play a crucial role in the new season, citing his exceptional talent and composure on the field.
“I’ve never seen a kid come on the scene and be so calm and relaxed and just so brilliant at everything he does,” Scholes said. “He’s only 30 or 40 games into his first-team career and then to go and start for England at the Euros and be brilliant. It just bodes well for the future.”
